About
Us Our Mission We grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. Make-A-Wish's First Wish In 1980, 7-year-old Chris Greicius had one wish -- to be a police officer. Unlike most children, who have plenty of time to realize their dreams, Chris was battling leukemia and his prognosis was not good. When the community became aware of Chris' life-threatening medical condition and his wish, it quickly mobilized to make his dream come true. On April 29. 1980, Chris was sworn in as the only honorary highway patrolman in Arizona state history. Read the whole story... History of the Mid-South Chapter The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-South was founded in 1986 with the granting of Tony’s wish, which was to sing on stage with Tammy Faye Baker. He and his family visited Heritage USA and his wish came true. Since that time, the Mid-South chapter and its supporters have made dreams come true for more than 3,000 wish children, including 275 in the fiscal year 2007. The Mid-South chapter serves all of Arkansas, west Tennessee and north Mississippi. - CLICK HERE TO MEET OUR STAFF Funding More than 75% of money raised supports our wish-granting program.
